About Us

MuScene Voice Forensics Laboratory, a US-based company, possesses a wealth of theoretical knowledge, extensive practical experience in forensics, and cutting-edge technical expertise. The laboratory has conducted in-depth research in various fields such as acoustic physics, psychoacoustics, spatial acoustics, voiceprints, sound forensics, speaker identification, signal-to-noise ratio control, noise reduction, frequency and sound information extraction, voice synthesis and modification verification, audio signal enhancement, environmental voiceprint analysis, file conversion and sound compression, audio encoding and decoding, among others.

In light of the paucity of professional organizations in Taiwan capable of providing related audio forensic services to general civilians, the parent company of MuScene Voice Forensics Laboratory, the MuScene Recording Studio, had been requested to provide speech analysis, speaker identification, speaker authentication, and other related audio forensics services to the general public back in 2013. Additionally, the laboratory has been routinely appointed by District Courts for providing outsourced services in various scenarios, ranging from Karaoke copyright infringement disputes, apartment mansion noise disturbance issues, contract frauds in banking institutions, to typical litigations involving falsified recoded conversations. The MuScene Voice Forensics Laboratory has played important role as a neutral third-party forensic services provider in upholding the regional justice system.

Since the official establishment of the MuScene Voice Forensics Laboratory in July 2015, all forensic related services, including consulting, examination, analysis, comparison, basic research and technical advancement, have been transferred to the laboratory's leadership to continue to enhance research capacity and service quality. Now, we accept commissions from judicial and investigative institutions for appraisal, scrutiny, and experimental testing. We also offer consulting and file appraisal services for law firms and individuals, helping to formulate litigation strategies and pre-evaluate the authenticity and potential tampering of digital audio documents prior to their presentation to the court.

To meet different types of cases, needs, schedules, and execution costs, we provide two execution plans: Quick Screening Appraisal and Exhaustive Appraisal. The former is a quick screening of the basic status and presence of apparent tampering characteristics of digital data, allowing clients to acquire an overall sense of confidence or potential risks of digital evidence in a short time at an affordable cost. The latter is a comprehensive, in-depth investigation and scrutinization of the entire digital document, with the goal aimed at issuing an official scientific forensic report later on. (The MuScene team can provide a full English forensic report for international litigation usage and can also send expert witnesses in response to court calls.)

We continue to inherit the prudent engineering culture and spirit of our parent company, the MuScene Recording Studio, and continue to engage in research and development in cutting-edge sound engineering. We aim to continue to stay at the forefront of technology while using our professional services to reveal the most primitive essence and truth of sound to the general public.

MuScene Voice Forensics Laboratory, a privately funded third-party forensic laboratory and research organization, has long been entrusted with forensic investigations, collaborative research, and outsourced research projects by domestic and international government agencies, private organizations, and individuals.

MuScene maintains a strict third-party, unbiased protocol in all forensic cases, adhering to a rigorous anti-fraud mechanism (verification process and peer review system). Case assignments are handled through a random draw system, team-based approach, and a three-tiered independent review process (involving at least four individuals).

The laboratory strictly refuses to advocate for or against any specific party or position. Regardless of whether the client is a law enforcement agency, corporation, law firm, non-profit organization, research partner, sponsor, or marginalized group, MuScene only accepts commissions based on a neutral third-party standpoint. The data, findings, and expert conclusions derived from our analysis and investigations are not subject to any form of modification, textual adjustments, or alterations in tone or wording.
